CPD0901/2026Implementing loT in Property Management |
Introduction
Property Managers now face mounting pressure to reduce operational costs, enhance occupant experience, and meet ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) sustainability targets. This course explores the Internet of Things (IoT) as a paradigm-shifting solution, transforming passive structures into responsive, data-driven ecosystems. Students will master the fundamental problem-solving capabilities of IoT in PropTech, technical differentiation between protocols, and the strategic rationale for selecting LoRaWAN for large-scale property infrastructure. Through real-world Hong Kong case studies, participants will gain practical insights into deployment, security protocols, and LoRaWAN Network Server Architecture. As the industry looks toward an AI-driven future, this curriculum bridges the gap between physical infrastructure and digital intelligence, future-proofing assets against evolving technological standards.

| Course Introduction | : | The property management industry is undergoing a profound transformation. As urban environments become denser and tenant expectations continue to rise, traditional approaches to building management - characterized by reactive maintenance, manual inspections, and siloed operations - are no longer sufficient. Property managers face mounting pressure to reduce operational costs, enhance occupant experiences, meet sustainability targets, and future-proof their assets against rapidly evolving technological standards. The Internet of Things (IoT) presents a paradigm-shifting solution to these challenges. By embedding intelligence into physical infrastructure through networks of interconnected sensors and actuators, IoT transforms conventional buildings from passive structures into responsive, data-driven ecosystems. |
