| Introduction: |
There was formally no such term as architecture in ancient China, Feng Shui being something similar to it, but with a much wider coverage. Traditional Chinese Feng Shui is basically studied in two major schools, namely the Form School and the Compass School. Form School is dealing with landscape and watercourse while Compass School is dealing with time and direction. They are not competing with each other but rather complementing one another. And they are tightly related to those fundamental philosophical beliefs such as Tai Ji, Yin-yang, He Tu, Lo Shu, Trigrams, Five Elements etc. All these will be briefly touched upon in the seminar while some relatively new research results of the presenter will also be highlighted. Everyone may perhaps be familiar with the term UFOs, usually describing those flying saucers in the past. The formal term used nowadays in the U.S. is UAP that of course include UFOs. The U.S. government started to officially study UFOs in the 50’s of the last century, entitled the Project Blue Book from 1952 to 1969. Congressional hearings on UFOs, or UAP, are a relatively recent development, gaining significant momentum in the 2020s after the public release of videos showing unexplained aerial encounters and the continued reports from military pilots and personnel. In this seminar, studies on UAP by the Pentagon by the turn of the century leading to these recent congressional hearings will be recalled and discussed. Today, believing in the existence of UFOs and aliens is something scientific and logical. |
